of the nation’s fastest growing careers through 2010 according to the United
States Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Allied Health Institute’s Online Medical Assisting Program
prepares entry-level Medical Assistant professionals for work in medical
offices, clinics, and associated medical facilities. In addition to basic
diagnostic and laboratory procedures, students learn current medical technology,
terminology, medical coding, and other skills necessary to excel in the
healthcare industry.
Our program is separated into learning units called
modules. You must complete the modules in their entirety, in any sequence, to
successfully complete this curriculum. Each four week class is designed for
student success in retaining and exhibiting the information presented. Classes
are available 24 hours a day. Students can complete the medical online program
within 10 months. This program has a ***clinical
training requirement.
Upon successful completion of all the Medical Assisting
courses, students will have been taught a variety of clinical and technical
information related to the healthcare field. Courses include Anatomy and
Physiology, Clinical Assisting, Pharmacology, EKG Interpretation, Phlebotomy and
Medical Computer Applications. To ensure a complete background of the medical
field, the Medical Assisting Program covers medical insurance billing, medical
transcription, and business management as it relates to healthcare along with
the many aspects of clinical medical assisting.
The learning modules of
the online medical assisting program encompass lecture and information by both
asynchronous and synchronous learning. Discussions are done by threaded
discussion boards, live chats, electronic video library, interactive activities,
assignments, examinations and final.

externship, students will be awarded a diploma. Students will then be eligible
to sit for various national certification exams such as the Registered Medical
Assistant (RMA) which is awarded through the American Medical Technologists, the
Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) also awarded by the American Medical
Technologists and the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA-AAMA) awarded by the
American Association of Medical
Assistants.
