Electrocardiographer in the health care setting is a dynamic and expanding career
opportunity. Our online Electrocardiograph Technician Program prepares the entry
level technician for work in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Inpatient
facilities include hospitals, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers.
Examples of outpatient settings are physician’s offices and home health care
agencies. Upon completion of this course the student will have an overview of the healthcare delivery system, basic medical terminology, patient care, and medical ethics. The student will have in depth knowledge of the 12 lead EKG and the conduction system of the heart as well as some of the disorders that can be monitored with the EKG or other mobile monitoring systems. The learning modules of the Electrocardiograph Technician Program encompass lecture, threaded discussion, live chats, electronic video library, interactive activities, assignments, examinations and final.
